Stories that recognize the people beside the chart

The work outside the clinic matters — the driving, the meals, the waiting, the staying. This is a curated space, not an open forum, so that stories are shared with care.

At launch, community does not need to be an open forum requiring constant moderation. A safer model is curated participation. Visitors submit stories or ideas through a controlled form, with clear consent and privacy language. Thomas chooses which are appropriate for publication and may edit or anonymize them with permission.

This protects both the people who share and the people who appear in their stories — including the clinicians. Love is something we do, and much of it never appears in the medical chart.

Privacy is not evasion

Stories about illness often involve other people — partners, children, clinicians. We protect them by default. Anonymization is available, and identifiable details are removed unless you and the people involved agree otherwise.

What we look for

  • • A moment when someone entered the water
  • • What partnership looked like, or where it broke down
  • • The practical work that never made the chart
  • • What you wish you had known to ask
