The Mission
Bring your questions. Leave room for the answers.
Medical professionals bring medical education, clinical experience, evidence, and professional judgment. Patients bring lived experience, observations, values, questions, and goals. Neither form of knowledge replaces the other.
The premise is simple but consequential. Patients should be encouraged to prepare, learn, organize information, ask thoughtful questions, speak honestly, listen carefully, and participate responsibly. Healthcare professionals should be represented with respect for their training, workload, judgment, and humanity.
Waded In Together is never framed as patients against doctors. The purpose is stronger partnership. A patient who researches is bringing questions, not a verdict. A clinician who teaches is not surrendering authority — they are inviting the patient to do their part.
Seven principles that shape the work
Partnership is two kinds of knowledge in the same room.
Humanity exists on both sides of the exam table.
Experience is not the same as evidence.
Privacy is not evasion.
Responsibility does not require spectacle.
Love is something we do.
Comfort and cure are not the same thing.
